Toronto trip

Weekend in Toronto, day 1, paella at Carmen's, the ol CN Tower (worth a climb!), and a big thumbs up from Lilly Marionz down in Florida. She liked the steaks that I sent to her sister Gabby for her 1st birthday.

5 trouble spots you can fix thanks to Bruce

I know it may sound a tad bit crazy, but inside today's brand new article from my Toronto's Trouble Spot Training Expert, Bruce Krahn, you'll discover how you can fix your trouble spots:

Oddly enough I had to go all the way to Miami last year to meet Bruce at a small, closed-doors meeting of 15 elite fitness experts. The seminar was arranged by world-famous trainer, Vince Del Monte, and that's where Bruce started telling me about how he makes his living curing:

1) Excess fat from your thighs
2) Ugly fat on your back (ladies - that ugly stuff under your bra!)
3) Man boobs (in his male clients, of course!)
4) Stubborn belly fat & lazy love handles (of both men & women)
5) Big ol' fat butts - sorry, just being honest here ;)

As you know, I'm NOT easily impressed. In fact, I'm outright skeptical of every trainer that I meet. But after spending a couple of hours with Bruce, I was sincerely impressed. Here's why...

Bruce isn't your average trainer that is in "so-so" shape. No way. Instead, he's 45 years and what I would call, "a ripped freak". (Just like my good friend from down in Michigan, Shaun Hadsall).

Bruce walks the walk. He practices what he preaches. He's cured his own trouble spots. When Bruce talked training and dieting, I listened carefully.

Read his article. I know you'll agree that Bruce knows what he's talking about. He'll make sure you're not misled by any of these "trendy" workouts.

Oh, and he has a bonus trouble spot cure, too. If you're dealing with flab on the back of your arms, Bruce has a cure for that too.

That's why he's called the Trouble Spot Training expert.

Don't miss all of the before and after pictures on his site.

Impressive stuff,

PS - The journey begins...

....today I leave the farm for the big city of Toronto. I'll be there for a couple of days and then flying out to Denver to visit my other business, the HQ of EarlyToRise.com. From there, I head to San Diego next Wednesdays for the 4th annual Turbulence Training Summit with Alwyn & Rachel Cosgrove, Jay Ferruggia, Brad Pilon, over 50 Certified Turbulence Trainers, and another 75 awesome attendees. You can still join our morning bootcamps by reserving your spot at www.TTSummit.com

Plan B for Trainers

The journey begins...it's 2,167 miles, and according to Google, will take 37 hours with no traffic. Ha. I think I'll fly, thanks.

And actually, it's going to take me a lot longer. But it will be worth it.

But, if you can't make it, here's your Plan B. And while it's Plan B, it really should be Plan A - required for all Personal Trainers. It's Plan A because it's coming from my TT Summit Keynote Speaker, Alwyn Cosgrove.

Unfortunately for us trainers, 16 out of 17 training businesses crash-and-burn in just a few years. I don't want that to happen to YOU. But there's good news. Alwyn is doing a free  webinar where you can find out how to evolve in the fitness industry and dominate your market.

Alwyn (pronounced Allan, btw) is one of the sharpest fitness business owners in our industry. In fact, the National Fitness Business Alliance (NFBA) states the he runs the most profitable gym per square foot in the country. And Men's Health always ranks his gym in the Top 10 of ALL the gyms in the country. That's impressive. And I'm not easily impressed.

On the webinar, Alwyn's going to share:

1) How you can take your skill in being a great trainer and turn that into running a great business

2) Why the fitness industry has evolved so fast in the last 3 years (i.e. he'll discuss a certain hard-core style of training) and what you have to do to evolve to run your fitness business against these competitors

3) His 5-Step Blueprint for DOMINATING your local fitness market

Absolutely dominating. By the way, Alwyn has the most profitable gym in the USA and he's RARELY there. That might be even more impressive!

Plus, you'll get...

The #1 Secret to Getting More Clients (this secret led to the turning point in Alwyn's career)

If I didn't already know it, I'd tune in just for that.

So if you can't be at the TT Summit, do NOT miss his free webinar.

It will be the turning point in your career,

Why and When to Do Cardio

Two years ago I was doing a LOT of cardio.

What? Why?

Because I needed to be tough. Tough Mudder, tough.

I needed to be ready for the 12-mile Tough Mudder race I did in Beaver Creek,
Colorado, back in 2012.

And I was. The course was brutal, starting at 8,500 feet in elevation and going up to 11,000 feet, but I finished in 2 hours and 45 minutes. A few months later my best friend and I did the Toronto Tough Mudder - which was almost easy in comparison - in just under 2 hours and 10 minutes. We were among the first 10 people - out of 17,000 - to finish the course.

My results were all thanks to the Tough Mudder Training program I created. And I know what works for preparing men and women of ALL fitness levels to complete a Tough Mudder, Warrior Dash or Spartan Race.

(That program is also perfect for runners and endurance athletes of all kinds.)

You'll Discover the Safe and Quick Way to Getting Fit For 10 Mile Mud Runs and Obstacle Courses with TT Adventure Race Training

Listen, if you're going to spend $50 or $150 to enter a race, you better be prepared.

If you're not, you won't enjoy those really fun races.

And they are a great time. After all, who wouldn't when you can be a kid all over again PLUS lose stubborn fat and gain lean muscle at the same time.

NOTE: I also hit personal bests in my strength training workouts while doing this Tough Mudder Training with once-a-week cardio. My superior results were again, all thanks to my unique plan, so you'll stay strong and lean without losing muscle.

And that's exactly why I've put together this one-of-a-kind workout program. In TT Adventure Race Training, you get to train as though you're preparing to compete in one of the most physically demanding races - the Tough Mudder race.

NOTE: You don't have to be doing an adventure race to get the fat burning benefits of this workout. ANYONE of an advanced fitness level can try this tough program.

And inside this special TT program, you'll go through "The Adventure 600", a brutal challenge workout designed to increase your strength and endurance, two total body workouts that will shred the last bits of stubborn fat, AND you'll have a plan for gearing up to run 10 miles in a Tough Mudder.

Whew - that's a LOT.

But it rocks.

And not only that, you'll also discover that these TT exercises will help get you through the obstacles you'll face going through the Tough Mudder race - that way you'll ace the race while leaving your friends in awe... not to mention all the heads you'll be turning with your lean and ripped physique.

But what if you have NO intention of ever doing an adventure race?

That's totally fine because you can still use these 3 powerful workouts to rapidly transform the way you look and feel. I guarantee it.

Heck, the hill sprint program alone is one of the nastiest fat burning challenges I've ever put together. And with a new challenge every week, you're going to get better and faster, all while shrinking your waistline and looking hotter than ever in time for summer.

Throw in the first metabolic resistance training circuit from Workout B, and your metabolism will be revved so high, fat simply won't stand a chance of staying around for beach season.

And then there's The Adventure 600, an 8-exercise, all out fat burning circuit, swooping in to put the finishing touches on a beautifully sculpted physique.

So whether you're training for an adventure race or simply wanting to transform your body, I promise these workouts will deliver amazing results.

Get adventurous. Get TT Adventure Race Training.

Best oblique exercise and rapid fat loss program

Here are three more great questions I answered on Facebook:

Q: What are the best exercises for oblique muscles? - Ben Wedighezai

Answer:
Cross-Body Mountain Climbers, Side Planks, Diagonal Ab Wheel Rollout, Cable Chops. Forget about silly moves like bicycle crunches.

Q: I'm 55 yrs old and doing a combination of weight resistance and interval training. How many 30 minute workouts per week should I do to lose the nasty last 5 - 8 lbs and keep it off? - Lianne Busse

Answer:
3-4. That's a great plan and exactly what we use in our most popular workout, TT for Buff Dudes and Hot Chicks. This workout is part of The TT $7 Transformation Package here.

Your workout plan is so much better than an hour of useless cardio. Keep up the great work, Lianne! You're inspiring people of all ages.

Q: Once I've done Turbulence Training, what program should I use next? - Gwen Smith

Answer:
That's easy. You need to follow the exact workout that has been used by over a dozen TT Transformation Contest winners.

Under-40 women's category winner, Nicole, replaced her "twice daily cardio" sessions with this exact TT program and lost 19 pounds in 12 weeks.

Nicole said...

"Before TT, I exercised so much - 1 1/2 to 3 hours a day and 2 trips to the gym - that I was always starving...I was really excited to find Turbulence Training. Being able to exercise for less than an hour a day, and better yet to
have it be effective, was really exciting. I am excited to try many of the other programs and hopefully someday to become a Turbulence Training Trainer."

Join Nicole in using TT for Buff Dudes and Hot Chicks program to get back in shape fast. Just go here and get this special deal:

You'll get EIGHT weeks of workouts (plus a special surprise bonus) for less than the price of breakfast at Starbucks. This one workout is the most popular with our best TT Transformation Contest Winners.

Warning From Bedros and Update on Jay

You might have missed this because of the holiday yesterday...so here it is again, a big WARNING from Bedros. (And below that, an important update on my friend, Jason Ferruggia.)

#1 reason most personal trainers FAIL - By Bedros Keuilian

The #1 reason why fitness businesses fail is because the owner spent too much time & money on the little trivial things that don't matter...

...and not enough time, money and effort on the things that do matter such as:
  • Lead generation
  • Marketing systems
  • Sales process & scripts
  • Operational systems
  • CB Notes: And I'll add one more - REFERRALS (this is the biggest lesson I learned this year since opening my bootcamp)
***
This is why I'm having Bedros spend all Friday afternoon with you at the TT Summit. He, along with our most successful Certified Turbulence Trainers, will giving you their #1 client getting and lead generation strategies (using dirt-cheap Facebook ads, and free referrals & community events).

Now for a quick update on Jay Ferruggia...I just booked his hotel room and confirmed his attendance for the event. Hopefully we'll get him up on stage for a QnA and to give you one of his legendary, Check-Ups from Neck-Up!

He did one of these for my $100K Mastermind group last September at our Vegas meeting and he was our most popular speaker at that event.

He might be the most popular at the TT Summit, too.

See you there,

Craig Ballantyne, CTT

PS - Then again, he has some tough competition...

...such as Bedros, Alwyn Cosgrove, all the CTT's, and the woman who I believe will be the TT Summit 2014 Rockstar, Rachel Cosgrove.

Oh, and then there's lil' ol' me, too. I know one thing...I'm bringing you my latest & greatest unique bodyweight challenges - you ain't seen nothing yet!

If You Could Do Just One Workout

This is one of the most common questions I get..and today, Michael Obermeyer of Wichita, Kansas asked me this on our TT Facebook Memorial Day Fitness QnA session:

PPS - One More Kickbutt Mindset Tip for Memorial Day:

Associate with positive people only...even if the only positive people in life are people on the Internet & people you read about in books.

Research shows that the more often you use a weight loss website, like the TT Member's area, the better your chances of success.

Research also shows that being accountable to others and getting social support also lead to more fat loss.

And that's what you'll get in the TT Member's area as part of your 1-Year TT Platinum Membership.

You're going to love it.

But hurry, the price doubles tonight. Time to take advantage of this incredible offer right now.

Squats and Sunshine

Today and Sunday have been the most beautiful days of the year here out on the farm. It's too hot for ol' Bally the Dog today. But we'll get him down to the river for a swim.

1A) Squats
1B) Box Jumps

2A) Front Squats
2B) Good Mornings

And that's it for 14 days. No more heavy squats. I get a deload week starting on Friday.

This program had some nice PB's in it. Personal bests.

Best chest workout

Ready for my best chest workout formula to pump your pecs?

I created this for Men's Health magazine because they demanded my perfect dumbbell chest building routine. It started with this MH reader question: "What exercise can I do to build a bigger chest?" - Steve, Gallup, NM
Answer:
Hey Steve, there's no one magic exercise that'll give you the perfect pecs on its own. The secret is to use a few key exercises and a select number of proven, unique strategies to maximize results.
I've been studying pec training since I was 16-years old training at a YMCA in the small hockey town of Stratford, Ontario. (The same city that gave the world Justin Bieber - who is only slightly more famous than Bally the Dog.)
Here's the foundation for your dumbbell chest workout.

1) A heavy, low volume, basic dumbbell press (6-8 reps) 2) A moderately heavy, moderate volume dumbbell press (8-12 reps)
3) A modified dumbbell chest fly with high volume (12-15 reps)
Why that 'trinity' of chest exercises?
Because it attacks the muscle at all angles, and with the advanced techniques you're about to get, it will stimulate the maximum amount of muscle fibers for growth (if you want muscle gain) and metabolism (if you want fat loss and muscle maintenance).
With that formula, we can build DOZENS of chest workouts to use year round with continual results.
How do we do that?
By using these techniques:
- Slow eccentrics (lowering phase)
- Squeeze techniques at the top of the movement (90% or 3/4 reps)
- 1 & 1/2 reps, Triple stop reps
- Neutral, pronated, and supinated grips
- Different bench angles (decline, flat, low-incline, steep incline)
- Modified exercises that maximize leverage, like the DB fly-press
- Drop sets
- And so much more
But that's not a complete chest workout. We still need to add upper back exercises to build the opposing upper back muscles that keep your shoulder joint safe when doing chest presses.
For example, let's start with something simple, yet profound:
1A) DB Semi-Pronated Flat Chest Press with 3s eccentric - 3×6
1B) DB Row - 3×8 per side
2A) DB Incline Press 90% with 1 second pause - 4×8-12
2B) DB Chest Supported Row with 1 second pause - 4×15
3A) DB Flat Chest Fly-Press - 3×12-15
3B) DB Rear Deltoid Raise - 3×12
NOTE: That is a muscle growth program. For fat loss, do 1-2 sets per exercise and add finishers or intervals to the end of the workout.
DOUBLE NOTE: Your warm-up should include shoulder mobility exercises like W-Y-T's, Band Pulls, and Stick-ups.

Like that workout? Want another chest program just as good as that?

You'll get EIGHT weeks of workouts (plus a special surprise bonus) for less than $1 per week of fat burning workouts - all PROVEN to work for some of our best TT Transformation Contest Winners.

Grocery store nightmares

It's crazy how many foods have added sugar.

Every single deli meat I wanted to buy has sugar, corn syrup, cane juice, dextrose, or some other version of sugar added to the ingredient list. Same with every packaged beef jerky and pepperoni stick.

Even most of the salmon fillets and chunks of pre-cooked chicken came with added sugar and fillers.

NOTE: I'm lazy and was hoping for an easy way out instead of cooking my own. Sorry! :(

Another grocery store nightmare?

Yogurt.

And yogurt is as popular as ever these days.

I'm amazed at how many commercials there are on TV for this...and no, I'm not talking about the new Godzilla movie. Ha. (Personally, I'd like to see a remake called, Ballyzilla.)

Those commercials you are seeing everywhere are for so-called "healthy yogurts" that support healthy gut bacteria (you need healthy gut bacteria to boost your immune system and your metabolism).

Here's the problem...these yogurts are often filled with sugar (about half as much sugar as in a can of soda!). That's deadly and will make you fat. Do NOT eat yogurt with added sugar.

But you still need to have healthy gut bacteria if you want to lose fat, speed your metabolism, stay healthy and never get sick, and to finally get a flat belly forever. To do those all of those good things, follow this simple plan:

Stay healthy with the right food choices,

#1 Workout of 2014

This might be the #1 workout of 2014...it could be even better than the Guru Fat Loss program from January, or TT Thermo 30 Fat Burning Gauntlets from February, or April's "for Women" Carve-Your-Curve Circuits, and maybe even better than May's TT Metabolic Resistance Training 3.0.

Yes, the June TT Workout of the Month may be even better than all of them.

It's call "TT Bodyweight Max Reps". Earlier this week I put a TTGPC (Turbulence Training Guinea Pig Client) through all of the workouts and he was shocked by the unique challenges I had for him. I guarantee that he'll nearly double his pushups, pullups, and single-leg performance with this new training methodology.

Ha! Ol' CB in a Lab Coat. Love that Bodyweight Max Reps cover...

TT Bodyweight Max Reps could be the best advanced bodyweight workout manual I've ever created. In the Max Reps program, I'm giving you a unique way to boost your muscle endurance, and hopefully double your pushups, pullups, and single leg performance.

You'll get to try it late next week IF you are a TT Platinum Member.

And then you can let me know YOUR vote on which TT program you think has been the best of 2014.

By the way, here's some feedback on one of my personal favorites of 2014, the TT MRT 3.0 workout:

"I did workout B this morning, and it was amazingly hard...total upper body exhaustion! My chest, shoulders, and back are all quite sore at this point. This was another really short workout (33 mins including warmup and stretch at the end) but included so much work in such a short time...

"Workout C was tough...very sweaty and fun. Superset B w/the deadlift and the block pushups was the hardest for me due to the high reps. I was also still pretty sore from A&B so the pushups were rough.

"Workout D was a really great arm workout. My arms were sore all weekend after that one. I couldn't do the full 60 second pull up hang w/out taking a break somewhere around 45 seconds....and then getting back up and finishing the hang.

"Overall TT MRT 3.0 is a great workout.. It's extremely time efficient and varied and definitely made me feel very worked out." - Dormars1979 (TT Member on the Forum)

Upper Body Pushing in the Garage

Well, I'm shocked.

It turns out that ol' TTGPC, from yesterday's brutal leg workout, has almost no muscle soreness. That's great news, because he did over 160 reps - per leg! - of Bulgarian Split Squats in 45 minutes (plus a few other moves, of course). You'll get your chance to do a similar workout on June 2nd or 3rd, when you do workout B from the Max Reps program.

I'm really encouraged by the lack of soreness. In fact, TTGPC feels great.

This could be the best bodyweight performance improving program I've ever created at TT. Can't wait to see your results.

Today it was back into the garage for me...a basic upper-push strength workout, because tomorrow is a deadlift day, so I didn't want to fatigue the upper back or forearms.

1) KB Snatch - 4x6

2A) Powerblock Overhead Press - 3x5
2B) Band Pull

3A) Powerblock Floor Press - 4x15
3B) WYLIT

4) TRX Triceps Extension

5) Max Pushups

World of Hurt Leg Workout Coming Soon

A World Of Hurt.

Great name for a soap opera, don't you think?

It's also where my TTGPC is going to be waking up tomorrow after doing workout B from the June 2014 TT WOM.

In the Max Reps program, I'm giving you a unique way to boost your muscle endurance, and hopefully double your pushups, pullups, and single leg performance.

Workout B is the single leg workout...about 45 minutes long, and half of that is devoted to single leg movements. Lots of reps were done...lots of drops of sweat spilt on the garage gym floor...lots of dog barks (although that's every workout when we get to open the garage door...who knows what varmints he's trying to contact)...and lots of big deep breaths as the TTGPC reached deep for another rep.

Coming soon. You'll love it.

And I'll treat everyone at the TT Summit to a modified Bootcamp version of it, too.

For me...

Off day dog walk...and I caught him 'watering the flowers'...Plus "dog selfie"!

How to Sell Fitness

You probably know all about the following trainers:

- Mikey Whitfield (see his amazing results below)
- Kate Vidulich (up-and-coming superstar)
- Shawna Kaminski (breakthrough trainer of the year)

What do they all have in common?

They learned how to sell fitness from this ONE expert.

And now he's ready to help YOU.

Yes, my best Armenian friend, and master of selling fitness, Bedros Keuilian, is doing a free webinar for you next week.

You'll discover how to build sell fitness online. He'll be teaching some big secrets that we've shared in our $1000/day Mastermind sessions with folks like Mikey Whitfield, Kate Vidulich, and other superstars.

Here's Bedros to tell you about their recent results:

Hey!

Bedros here...And you won't want to miss this...here's why...

Two days ago Mike Whitfield ended his four day Sprint Conditioning info product launch which sold over 1,900 front end sales...

...by front end sales I mean just his main product, not counting his up-sales which account for another 30% of revenue.

Ten days ago Shawna Kaminski sold 1,500 front end units of her Challenge Fat Loss program during a four day launch.

And a week before Shawna's launch Kate Vidulich made 1,300 front end sales during her four day launch of 1,000 Calorie Accelerators.

Three info product launches over the last 30 days and each of them netted 5 figures in just four days - that's HUGE!

So how did Mike, Shawna and Kate do it?

I'll be teaching you that next Tuesday, May 27th on this free webinar trainingBut I don't want you to miss out, so reserve your spot today so you don't forget ... and get left behind.

If you're an expert in ANY field and have an idea for an online information product like an ebook, online videos, or coaching programs, and want to know how to create, launch, and sell your info product to the masses then this free webinar is for you.

...and as usual I'm gonna pack this webinar training with a ton of killer content that you can take action on instantly.

Remember - it's free, it's next Tuesday, May 27th, and it's going to be packed full of proven content that has helped experts just like YOU finally breakthrough in their field and earn the respect, attention, and income they deserve. If that sounds like something you're interested in, don't miss it.

Thanks Bedros, looking forward to it.

Squats and Nutrition Tips You Will Not hear Anywhere Else

Today has been fantastic, and it's only 11:05am. First up was a great dog walk with ol' Bally the Dog. We also goofed around inside and I snapped a few dolfies (Dog selfies) of him. I'll post tomorrow.

After that it was my squat workout.

1A) Squats
1B) Box Jumps

2A) Good Mornings
2B) Front Squats

3A) Lunges
3B) Leg Curls

It was a good 1 hour session, followed by some healthy food shopping at The Gentle Rain. I grabbed some walnuts, cacao nibs, and spinach for my weird breakfast meals. More details soon...Then it was home for a long overdue Facebook QnA here: www.TurbulenceTrainingFanpage.com

Q: I just do not feel like I am loosing any weight.. I am eating good.. and doing the like 10 minute videos. Any suggestions?? I am looking to lose another 25lbs to bring down my bmi. - Angie Ryan

Answer:

Advanced results call for advanced measures. Here's the perfect plan: You must combine diet with total body metabolic resistance training for the perfect 1-2 punch for losing belly fat. Grab these... 1) FREE meal plans: www.TurbulenceTraining.com/freemealplans and 2) And get these workouts: www.TurbulenceTraining.com

Q: Abs: every day, every other day, or once a week? - Diana Jones

Answer:

Abs 2-3 times per week with total body ab exercises...NO situps, crunches, V-ups, or waste of time exercises like that.

Q: Your thoughts on intermittent fasting - Nicole Beach

Answer:

Works great for many of our www.transformationcontest.com winners. Check out www.eatstopeat.com

Q:
Best suggestion to drink less Diet Pepsi? Is it really that horrible for you? I drink a lot of it, would rather have it than food... - Vicki Spires

Answer:

If it's the sweetness, try Zevia calorie free cola... it uses Stevia, not aspartame. If it's the caffeine, switch to Green Tea. If it's the bubbles, try club soda. Keep increasing your water intake each day. Try adding "True Lemon" flavoring to water at the start. Stay strong, you can make these changes!

Q: Can I do your program every other day and let's say trx on off days...I don't understand why i can't exercise everyday or 6 days a week. Thanks in advance. Love your program I'm at week 4 : ] - Josee Dumolin

Answer:

Josee - You will get overuse injuries ... either elbow, wrist, shoulder, knee or hip. Even pro athletes take off-days and have an off-season. Thanks. Stick to 4 hard workouts per week. Appreciated!

Great session!

What the heck is this machine?

I've had a nice short stay at the beautiful new Four Seasons in mid-town Toronto...working on ETR essays with this great view. I have one last appointment this morning here in Toronto and then heading back to the farm...

This nice view almost tempts you into doing cardio...but much better to do bodyweight exercises in the yoga room...

There are lots of interesting 'toys' in the Toronto Four Seasons gym (it's such a big hotel gym because it's also for private residences, I believe). And have you ever seen one of these shrug/deadlift set-ups in a hotel gym? First time for everything...

I couldn't resist the shrug machine...had to do a few sets on it, even though I deadlifted yesterday. Did 4 sets of 15-20 plus 200 bw squats in the yoga room and some ab endurance plank and side plank challenges...then walked around my old neighborhood for a bit. Now it's time to head back to the farm to hang out with ol' Bally the Dog for the weekend.

Deadlift vs Madonna

It's been a fun few days here in Toronto.

On Wednesday night I met up with a couple of doctors for a seafood paella dinner at Patria restaurant in Toronto. Turns out an old friend of mine is the General Manager there. The paella was good, but not as good as the one I had in Barcelona last year. Next time I'm in Toronto I'll try another popular Spanish restaurant, Bar Isabella.

On Thursday, I ran some errands and went to a Blue Jay game at night. Good times.

Today...I was going to visit Madonna's gym here in Toronto, Hard Candy. <= Yes, that's what she called it. But that will have to wait until later this month. That will be a field trip worth telling you about!

Instead, I deadlifted.

1) Hang Clean (light)

2) Deadlift

3) Hang Clean (moderate weight) because they had no KB's for Swings

4) Pullups

5A) Shrugs
5B) Leg Curls

I'm doing all of my forearm work on 1-2 days now to let my grip strength recover better.

Tomorrow or Sunday I'll hit a bench press workout.

Off to tour around the city some more,

Burning belly fat in Toronto

Research and personal experience shows that there are three "magical" exercises that can burn up to 20 calories per minute.

The first two are awesome, but not practical for everyone because they require equipment and PERFECT technique. The third is one you can do anytime, anywhere, no equipment required.

The 3 exercises that burn 20 calories per minute are:

1) Kettlebell Swings <= Do NOT do unless you have perfect technique
2) Slam Ball Slams <= Tough without a Slammingz Ball!
3) This NO-equipment exercise <= comes with a few alternatives, too!

Back with FIVE cool exercise substitutions tomorrow,

Craig Ballantyne, CTT
Certified Turbulence Trainer

PS - Sorry for the short email today...

...but I have to run off to several appointments here in Toronto today. It's been a busy whirlwind trip into the big city.

Last night, over a delicious dinner of seafood paella at Patria, one of the many popular Spanish restaurants that have become famous here in Toronto, I caught up with some good friends, including a medical doctor...he gave me some insider fat loss secrets that I'll be sharing soon.

Next up, I have to go see my Naturopathic Doctor. He's helping me with some food sensitivity tests. I've always been curious to see if there are any other foods, besides wheat-based foods, that might be messing up my digestive system. I'll share my results as soon as I get them.

And finally, I had a visit to my chiropractor yesterday...and I asked him for the three most common exercises that cause injuries...and that get him MORE clients.

I'll reveal those three dangerous exercises next week. But we both agreed that you can do these exercises and burn fat without getting hurt.

Talk soon...gotta run and give some blood samples at Dr. Amauri's office...

28 Minute 500-rep Circuit

28 minute 500 rep circuit for a TTGPC (TT Guinea Pig Client)

1A) Box Jumps - 10 reps
1B) Overhead Squat - 20 reps, no weight, just a broomstick
1C) TBX - 20 reps
1D) TRX Triceps Extension - 10 reps
1E) Slam Ball Slammingz - 20 reps
1F) Power Wheel Rollout - 20 reps

5 rounds. Minimal rest.

Not too crazy on the conditioning, but a good sweat, and lots of movement patterns. Feedback was that it was a little overwhelming on low back with 1E and 1F back-to-back...I'll fix that with something in between ... next time.

Rainy Day Home Gym Meathead Workout

The day started a little wet. But that gave me, I mean Bally, an idea for a great article.

http://www.earlytorise.com/the-sad-tail-of-the-jogger-by-bally-the-dog/

But after that the day has turned amazing...it's warm and humid, like the final day of school in late June, and has been a pleasure to sit outside and do my morning readings.

I also hit a sweat home gym upper body meathead workout of this:

Warmup:
- WYLIT
- Pushups
- Band pull

1A) Pullup - 5x7
1B) KB Snatch - 4x8

2A) Pullup - 5x6

3A) Powerblock Floor Press - 4x12
3B) PB CSR - 4x15

4A) PB High Pull - 4x10
4B) TRX Curl - 4x10

Great times.

Now for a couple of days off, and then a big deadlift workout on the weekend in Toronto...if I can find a gym that let's me bang some weights.

BTW, the Home Gym set-up on the "farm" includes:
- Kettlebells from 15lbs to 70lbs (next up, a Beast/88lbs)
- Powerblocks to 125

Squat and Strength in the Spring Heat

Interesting workout day today.

First, I don't know why, but I had more strength and mental alertness than I can recall in a long, long time.

But I didn't do anything special today, and I slept very poorly last night due to shifting time zones and a warm bedroom.

I had 2 spoonfuls of cacao nibs, but that's still slightly less than normal.

Still, dang, the squatting was good today. And I moved through the workout fast.

The only difference that comes to mind is that the gym was warmer than usual...but you'd think that would do the opposite and induce early fatigue.

Oh well, great workout of:

1A) Squats (5-3-1 scheme)
1B) Depth Jumps (5x2)

2A) Front Squat
2B) Good Morning

3A) Leg Curl
3B) Side Plank

After the workout I thought to myself, "I'm going to be exhausted for the rest of the day."

So far, that hasn't turned out to be the case.

However, I was a little dazed and confused from the workout, and not paying attention to traffic. Nearly got thumped by a transport truck...fortunately it was slow-moving as it was driving through our little city and not out on a highway.

Then I had my British Gentleman adventure and lesson at the health food store...good times...and I spent a lot of money on weird stuff, such as $25 of extra virgin coconut oil, $20 on pthalate free shaving cream, $20 on weird tasting, natural toothpastes, some organic sausages and sauerkraut (including beet sauerkraut), and some random protein bars. Good times.

Enjoy, and pushing yourself to improve.

Never give up on what is important to you,

Slay the Stairs 355 Workout

355 "Slay the Stairs" Workout Part 2 - This is ADVANCED...not for Beginners...Intermediate would do 3 rounds and cut back on reps and intensity:

1A) San Diego Convention Stairs - 1 rep bottom to top
1B) Decline Pushups (walk hands down stairs) - 10 reps
1C) Narrow Stance BW "Air Squats" - 20 reps
1D) Close-Grip Pushups - 10 reps
- 5 rounds, no rest

2A) Jumps (jump and SOFTLY land 2-3 steps up with bent knees) - 10 reps
2B) Walking Lunges up stairs (3 steps at a time) - 10 reps/side (count as 20 reps total)
- 5 rounds, no rest

This is a LOT of work for your glutes and quads. They will be sore. It's almost a substitute for a lower body strength workout.

Slay the stairs, savor the victory view.

Trainer of the Year

"Dave is the richest personal trainer on the face of the earth," my friend Bedros Keuilian told me.

"Wow," I replied. "Sounds like Dave would be Trainer of the Year at the TT Summit. Can you tell me more about him?" I said to Bedros.

Here was Bedros' reply...and you can learn more from Bedros here.

"You see Craig," Bedros started, "Here's the TRUTH about Dave..."

"Dave, is known around town because he's built a reputation for himself...

He has a lot of clients, his training center is like a second home to his clients, and he makes multiple six figures from his business each year.

Dave's clients get awesome results. They tell their friends, family and co-workers about his training programs because he's the best at what he does.

In fact, referrals are Dave's #1 source of new clients.

Dave's clients pay top dollar, because in addition to delivering results as promised, Dave delivers something else that other trainers in his area don't - an awesome client experience.

See Dave is more than just a personal trainer. He's a marketing expert and the "thing" he's best at marketing is fitness and fat loss.

He doesn't sell personal training or boot camps... He sells the OUTCOMES. And the client experience that he delivers keeps them coming back in.

And that's what differentiates him from all of his competitors...

...because while his competitors sell on price he sells on results and experience and that puts him in a category of one, which his why he charges more than any trainer in his area, and never has to compete on price.

Dave is what I consider "best in class" and his business is proof of that fact.

His community sees him as more than just a trainer... they see him as the local fitness authority and when seeking out a fitness program they immediately think of Dave.

You're probably wondering why I don't talk about Dave more often... that's because 'Dave' doesn't really exist. He's just a figment of my imagination.

But there are a bunch of other fitness pros just like Dave who are as real as the air you breath this very moment...

...and they are absolutely rocking it out with successful businesses.

They produce multiple six figures and some even seven figures incomes, and have personal satisfaction and freedom because they're living their passion each and every day.

Take Certified Turbulence Trainers and FBBC owners like Sean Barker,  Stephanie Flynn, Shawna Kaminski, Cara Eckerman, Sean Francis, Ray Ortiz, Lesa Gutenkunst, Kate Vidulich, and Bri "The High Energy Guy" Kalakay up in tiny Lapeer, Michigan...

...and other Fit Body Bootcamp (FBBC) owners Sonya Gonzalez, Josh Carter, Jeff Sherman, Riccardo Scala, Butch Nieves, Rebecca Tabbert, Matt Wilber, Denise Harty, and Nisan Trotter, just to name a few...

... and members of my 7 Figure Mastermind group like: Dan Ritchie, Dallas Wicker, Samantha Taylor, Nathaniel Dilworth, Misty Mozejko, Scott Skinner and Anna Larson.

See, I coach these fitness trainers personally...

I get to work with them monthly, weekly and sometimes even daily, and I get to see first hand why they are the most successful trainers on the planet

...each and every single one of them are as good as, if not BETTER than our "trainer of the year", 'Dave'.

So I guess in that way Dave is NOT just a figment of my imagination.

Some might think that these trainers simply got lucky or might of just stumbled upon a secret that got them to this high level of success. But I can tell you that they built their business on these nine core foundations.

1. They have an exceptional product and they deliver the results as promised. (I'm guessing you do, too) But more than that they deliver the WOW experience making their clients feel appreciated, recognized, and valued.

== And it's these next eight WOW factors that make them different than the "average" trainer. ==

2. They are expert marketers of their services. I can tell you first hand that not a one of them started off this way. They became expert marketers because they put in the time, money, effort, and sweat to learn these skills.

They build an email list, they deliver great content to it, and have clients on tap. They're active on Facebook - not wasting time, but showcasing client success stories and before and after pics to their community.

3. They work harder than anyone I know. They make no excuses... nights, weekends, whatever... when it's time to Get S#!t Done, they go into GSD mode and make it happen.

Learn how to kick your excuses and get into GSD mode here...

4. They don't blame the economy, or listen to the talking heads on TV. They CREATE their own economy.

5. They understand the value of a list. Each and every single one of the trainers I listed above has an email list of clients, prospects, past clients, and business contacts who they consistently deliver value, content, and offers to.

6. They reverse all risk. They put the risk on their shoulders and guarantee results or the client doesn't pay. Sadly, not enough trainer believe in their service enough to do the same.

7. They don't run their businesses... they run their systems and the systems run their business.

8. They are expert sellers of their personal training. And once again, I can tell you first hand that these guys and gals weren't born with the ability to sell...

...however, they recognize that selling is nothing more than a transference of feelings and becoming the assistant buyer and so they learned the skill and profit from it.

9. They do the critical few and delegate the trivial many. This is the 5/95 rule I refer to often - because 5% of the things you do are directly responsible for the number of clients you attract and the amount of income you generate.

It only make sense to do more of the things that are in your five percent and delegate the other 95% to others.

YOU have every opportunity to join the ranks of the most successful and highest earning fitness trainers on the planet, too.

YOU have access to every tool, resource, and information available to help you get there.

And if you want my help, I'm here for YOU.

In fact, I'll be at the TT Summit in June for you. Make sure you join me, Craig, and our friends, Alwyn and Rachel Cosgrove - and all of those TT Certified Trainers I mentioned earlier.

But you have to hurry, because the investment jumps up by $200 on Tuesday.

I'll show you how to get all of these 7-Figure Trainer Factors so that you can have an easy, fun, and lucrative fitness business that runs on auto-pilot while you are traveling or spending more time with your family.

Committed to your dreams and to your success,

Bedros Keuilian

Super Tough Burpee Workout

It was easily the toughest workout I've done all year. And I blame one woman. (Actually, I thank her for it.)

You see, this workout used something sneaky that shocked my metabolism sky-high for the rest of the day. I've tried over and over and over again to replicate the exact feeling that I got from this simple circuit.

The metabolic SHOCKER was six rounds of burpees paired with jump rope (you've probably watched me do this as Workout #51 in the Home Workout Revolution program). There was something in the way she designed the recovery periods that was amazing. Now she has a new workout for YOU.

That's right, Shawna is 51 years old and ripped! She has sexy abs and is the real deal, and is a Certified Turbulence Trainer, so you know her workouts are legit - in fact, TT-approved. She'll also be at the TT Summit, and hopefully we can have her lead a bootcamp workout and kick our butts.

Until then, save over 50% off her new follow-along, 20-minute fat loss challenge workouts that work faster than any cardio program or DVD set you can buy off TV.

And if that's not enough to get you moving, I'm adding in a Hardcore Workout bonus of my own. When you get Shawna's program, I'll give you these three TT workouts:

1) TT Metabolic Resistance Training Finishers
2) TT 15-Minute Metabolic Workouts
3) TT Metabolic Havoc!

But hurry, you only get the rapid results 48-hour fat loss challenge diet program as a fast action bonus TODAY. Then get ready to get extreme fat burning results from one of the top Turbulence Trainers in the world.
